BACK IN 98'

14 years...wow seems like such a long time ago. Back in 98' Rnb music was exactly what it was Rnb. You had groups singing and using their voices to express these foreign things called feelings. Rnb acts such as SWV, Aaliyah and Dru Hill still sang ballads and did not need to cross over their sound to garner recognition.

Back in 98' fashion was terrible, but back than we believed in who was in the clothes MORE than who was designing it.

Outside of the Bad Boy camp there weren't much big budget videos with million dollar cars and flying dollar bills. Just straight soul from your favourite artists.

In a shortened lockout year, the NBA All-Star Game (in Orlando) has never looked so good. New players are emerging and the enitre league is crawling with talent and skill never witnessed in years prior. Each player is an All-Star in their own right but not every player makes it onto the All-Star Game. This year we've got 3 Raptors on the ballot list and with your vote we could send one of our boys to the big dance.

This season we've got Andrea Bargnani (23.5 ppg), Demar Derozan (14.3 ppg) and Jose Calderon (10.6 ppg & 8.7 apg.) needing your votes to put Toronto back into the All-Star Game. In years passed we've had some legendary players represent the dino. Players such as Vince Carter, Antonio Davis & Chris Bosh were selected and quickly showed the NBA that Toronto is nothing to mess with!

This month is Movember and guys everywhere around the world are growing out their facial hair not to be lazy, but to raise awareness and money towards Prostate Cancer.

This campaign started nearly 10 years ago and has grown rapidly ever since. Close to a decade after it's launch in Melbourne, Australia, the Movember fever has touched down and has made a surmountable impact here in North America.

For some guys it is easy to grow facial hair, for guys of Asian decent like myself, it's a bit tougher. Here's my shot at Movember :)

The Canadian National Red Bull Thre3 Style went off this weekend and the homie Hedspin from Vancity took home the honour of Canada's Top Party Rockin' DJ! Not only did he earn this title, but he gets to represent Canada at the World Thre3 Style Competition happening in Dec.

Also a big shouts to Drastik (Ottawa) (2nd place) and Mensa (3rd place) (Toronto) for throwing down some insane sets!
